Seeing through the aquarium, a transparent reservoir where the huge
turtles swim freely inside, it inspired me to think if I could be the bulky but
lovely sea turtles, it will very exciting. I doubt people envy about me when I
am swimming freely with in my own “territory”.
I guess the moment I hatch out from the egg shell, I have no other choice
but to flop like a fish flopping towards the sea, even I have only four short
fins. The cruel scene is always there; seabirds will attack and swallow my
sibling, the people maybe there to witness the so called “precious” scene, of
course, we cannot deny the fact that people are stealing the turtle eggs too. I
had to hide under a huge coral, again staring at those hateful predators who
are torturing the small turtles.
Nobody cares what I am eating; most probably some dead fish smell jelly
fish. I thought I can swim freely, but I was dragged by the heavy shell. Days
after days, I found that I can actually attack prey instantly, straight to the
point. Accumulation of body fat and nutrition made my shell grew up, and I
became stronger. I certainly do not know the specific waters in the patch, but
I'm going forward with the warm. I met a lot of turtles and joined their team.
I do not know how long it took until we see a large coral reef, maybe there
will be our paradise. I swim in the coral reefs and enjoy the sun penetrate a
plume of shallow water.
The contaminated waters make us suffered a lot, and soon there will be
companions eating human garbage and killed. I live with fear all day, failed to
find enough food, but I still hung in there. I'm tired of every moment now. The tiredness
leads me to climb to the shore. I saw few human beings seem very cheerful, once
the big turtle moved out; they took away most of the eggs, and sped away. I
looked at this shocking scene, trying to crawl back into the sea. Unfortunately I attracted the human
attention, so I was caught by humans too.
Imagine if you are staying in the same environment.
The food I eat was contributed by you. Please stop feeding me such chewy "food".
The day comes when I saw a girl come to visit us. I felt her eyes did not
seem strange, but compassion and I immediately noticed her in time. Oops, it
was me who write the story then. Imagination to be the turtle disappeared and I
need to rush back for my coming event, “Connect to Conserve”.
Undeniable, we will not understand how the turtles suffer for the past
few decades until we put ourselves in their shoes. The examples given again
urge the importance of recycling the waste, just start practicing about the
recycling concept and we can make a better tomorrow for the turtles. Let us
start by recycling the old and unused phones! Before we come to the end, have a
look on how what we can get when a phone is recycled.
